In the beginning…

Fluid Service Corporation was started May 28, 1986 as a subsidiary of Rickert Industries by then President, Bruno Mauer. Initially, Fluid Service offered companies a portable recycling and machine cleaning service. This service was performed on-site, at our customers’ location. After cleaning the machines, the coolant was recycled and put back into the sumps. The waste generated was put into drums and hauled off-site for treatment.

In March of 1988 Fluid Service decided to enter the waste hauling industry. We purchased our first custom built truck and cultivated business relationships with area waste water treatment facilities. The relationships we established are still strong today as we continue to provide waste hauling throughout Wisconsin and surrounding areas.

In 1993, the reigns were turned over to current President John Schumacher. It was Mr. Schumacher’s drive and vision that prompted the change in how Fluid Service offered programs to its customers. This vision was realized with the implementation of our first “Turn-Key Fluid Management Program” on January 1, 1995 that allowed Fluid Service to fully integrate machine cleaning, coolant recycling and fluid management into one cost-saving package. By supplying the personnel, Fluid Service was able to offer its customers a complete Turn-Key Fluid Management system that saved its customers money.

With the growing demand for Turn-Key Fluid Management Programs, Fluid Service decided to phase out of the portable machine cleaning segment in the fall of 1999. This decision allowed Fluid Service to better focus on the growing demands for its Turn-Key Fluid Management Programs. Since 1995 we have fine tuned our process and services in such a way that we now custom-tailor each of our programs based upon specific customer needs.

In early 2000 another milestone was reached when Fluid Service was acquired by John Schumacher, Lisa Mauer and Jeff Hesse. Since then Fluid Service has continued to add new Turn-Key Fluid Management customers who reap the benefits and cost savings on a daily basis.
